WHAT KIND OF CAR FITS MY NEEDS?

When it’s time to purchase a car it’s easy to get distracted. You get so excited by the dream car you’ve always wanted that you forget to take a minute and see if the car fits your needs instead of it just being what you want. There are so many options that it’s good to think about it beforehand – car research is never a bad thing!
So, what kind of car fits your needs? Let’s try and narrow it down.

CUVS & SUVS

If you’re looking for a car that helps out your entire family, a CUV or SUV might be the way to go: but what’s the difference?
To put it simply a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is based on a car’s platform while a sports utility vehicle (SUV) is based on a truck’s.
If your family needs to tow anything heavy (like a boat, camper or equipment) and tends to drive through rugged terrain and areas that need high ground clearance, then a SUV would be a good pick.
On the other hand, if you have a large family, won’t be towing heavy loads, drive mostly on paved roads and freeways then you’ll be set with a CUV.

Trucks

A truck certainly falls under the “want vs. need” debate. Maybe you’ve always wanted a truck, but is it a practical purchase for you, especially if you’re living in a city?
A truck is great for heavy-duty work, as a work vehicle and for off-roading, but make sure you consider things like ease of parking, how comfortable you would be with the size, and the gas costs.

Sedans & Hatchbacks

Another similar duo, the main difference between a sedan and a hatchback is the rear part of the vehicle: In a hatchback, there is a single section for both luggage and passengers. The sedan has a separate section for luggage and passengers.
A sedan is a great choice if you have, or are going to have, a family. The four doors make child seats easier to access, and it’s a good-sized vehicle for families and those who often drive with three or four people in the car.
A hatchback just means a car with an upwards-opening door for a trunk. These vehicles can often get the space of a SUV with a ride of a sedan. They usually offer a unique style - designs are getting more stylish by the year, if that’s something you want to keep in mind along with them being practical.

Convertible

When it comes down to it a convertible about style. Convertibles are popular for singles or couples without children because of the lack of space, and because of their smaller size they do offer excellent agility and freedom because they can fit more places.
On the other hand, you can’t bring a lot of people (or things) with you due to space, and you have to think about how convertibles are easily broken into, plus their tops can tear and become damaged which can be a costly fix.
No matter the vehicle type, you must figure out what works best for you and your needs. Doing a little research before you shop can go a long way!
